How long have you been practicing veterinary medicine and where did you graduate from?

Practicing as a licensed veterinarian since 2021, Graduated from St. George’s University.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Batman.

More about Dr. Sopko

Dr. Sopko was born and raised in Grande Prairie, AB. He completed his Bachelor of Science through the University of Alberta. He attended St. George’s University for his veterinary degree and graduated in 2021 with magna cum laude distinction. After graduating from SGU, Dr. Sopko practiced mixed-animal medicine in the Grande Prairie area until deciding to pursue a practice-ownership route with Dr. Camille Adams. His special interests include surgery, emergency and critical care medicine, and diagnostic imaging.

In his free time, he is outdoors with friends and family hiking, camping, fishing, and playing hockey. He and his fiance have a dog named Mabel and a cat named Skinny Pete.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A veterinarian for as long as I can remember.

More about Dr Camille Adams

 aa Dr. Adams was born in Calgary Alberta. She completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph, Ontario in 2012 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Calgary, Alberta in 2018.

After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Adams took a job in Westlock Alberta working as a mixed animal veterinarian. She then took a job close to where she was living in Edmonton and worked at a specialty clinic for small animals. The following year in practice she started to work as a locum veterinarian in Northern Alberta and came to fall in love with Grande Prairie.

Dr. Adams has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, emergency and critical care cases and wellness/ preventative care specifically for the senior pets. She is working towards being able to provide orthopedic procedures and rehabilitation to her patients in the near future.

During her personal time, Dr. Adams enjoys running & hiking, travelling & spending time with family and friends. Her husband Logan, daughters Elodie and Chloe, along with three rescue dogs Bow, Ryder & Paisley keep her quite busy, as does her love for house plants.

Practicing as a licensed veterinarian since 2006. Graduated from Western College of Veterinary Medicine. 

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A veterinarian.

More about Dr Carla Budd

Dr. Budd has been in practice for 16 years, working with both small and large animals. Moving here from Manitoba, Carla and her family found an acreage in the Beaverlodge area to call home and raise her three boys. 

Dr. Budd has a special interest in surgery and reproduction and in her free time she enjoys skiing, camping, swimming and biking with her family.

Practicing since 2012, Graduated from N.A.I.T. AHT program in Edmonton.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Marine Biologist.

If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why?

I would be spaghetti casserole, because I am more unique than a single pasta.

Erinn’s veterinary career began in a hands-on role that combined many of the responsibilities of today’s Veterinary Technical Assistant (VTA) and Client Care Representative (CCR). Driven by a passion for animal care and lifelong learning, she went on to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT), spending much of her clinical career working in mixed animal practices.

Over time, Erinn discovered a passion for leadership and mentorship, leading her to transition into veterinary management. Today, she is dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive clinic culture where team members feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow. Erinn is especially passionate about helping those who are new to the profession, ensuring they have the guidance, encouragement, and resources needed to build successful and fulfilling careers. She believes that by investing in the next generation of veterinary professionals, today’s learners will become tomorrow’s mentors, strengthening the profession for years to come.

I would be a rigatoni, strong on the outside, but shaped to hold warmth and comfort on the inside

After relocating from Ontario, I continued pursuing my passion for animals and supporting the people who love them by continuing my career as a Client Care Representative in the veterinary field. This role has allowed me to combine my love for animal welfare with my strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to doing what’s right. I take pride in creating positive experiences for clients and helping ensure pets receive the care they deserve.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my best friend, making memories and embracing life’s everyday adventures. Whether at work or in my personal life, I strive to bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine compassion to everything I do.

More about Qavah

Qavah was born in Manitoba, but is a prairie girlie through and through. She has 3 rescue dogs, Archer, Basil and Gordie, and one cat named Oliver. She has had a deep love for all animals since she was young bringing home “stray” dogs, cats, frogs, mice and pigeons. In her spare time she loves to take her dogs for runs, go camping and travel to new places around the world, when she is not vacuuming her floor from all the pet hair.

Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted a career centered around helping others—whether that meant becoming a police officer or a dog groomer! My passion for animal welfare and supporting people has always been at the heart of everything I do. After building my career in the human health industry, I decided to combine my skills with my love for animals and make the exciting transition into the veterinary world. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me immersed in a video game or spending quality time with my two amazing dogs. Helping humans, caring for animals, and bringing a little fun to every day—that’s what I’m all about.

My passion for sports and teamwork continues today through coaching hockey and mentoring young athletes. Lindsay was born in Hinton, Alberta and raised in Fort Nelson, BC. She spent her childhood dancing, playing basketball, and hanging out with her families many animals. Now Lindsay enjoys running and trick training her border collie Cami. When she is not hiking and running, you can find her curled up with a book and her polydactyl cat Gilbert.

Taylor was born and raised in the small town of Fairview, with a passion for any and all animals. Coming from a farming background, Taylor has worked with animals big and small, and has a passion for exotics and horses. Taylor and her husband have recently moved to the Grande Prairie area with their own personal zoo, of five cats, two rabbits, a bearded dragon and a betta fish. In her spare time, you can find Taylor either riding her horses, spending time with her family, or working on DIY projects that her husband ends up finishing most of the time.

Fettuccine because I’m adaptable and resilient but still flexible enough to keep it classy! Plus I’m always ready to get ‘tangled’ up in life’s adventures. 

More about Riley

Riley Larsen is a veterinary technologist with a passion for communication and client care. After graduating from Olds College in 2020, she quickly discovered that her true calling extended beyond the clinical side of veterinary medicine. Riley loves being the bridge between veterinary teams and the families they serve, finding immense satisfaction in making clients feel heard, informed, and genuinely supported.

In September 2025, Riley and her fiancé Jared took an exciting leap together, moving to Grande Prairie and purchasing their first home. Their days are now a blend of renovation projects, DIY adventures, and the rewarding chaos of making a house a home. They share this chapter with their German Shepherd, Josie; their cat, Mable; and their horse, Duce.

Looking ahead, Riley hopes to keep building connections within the veterinary community, advocating for the human-animal bond that inspired her career and finding meaningful ways to share her love for animals and the people who care for them.

I would be a linguini noodle because I am super flexible and have a go with the flow personality.

Tiffany was born and raised in Nova Scotia before moving here to Grande Prairie for school graduating the Animal Health Technology program in 2008 from NAIT in Fairview. She has worked in mixed practice until 2014 where she decided to dip her feet into education. She taught at GPRC in the Animal Health Program for 8 years before joining our team. Tiffany has a special interest in CPR and anesthesia as well as a love for all things big and small. Her hobbies include horseback riding with her kids and horse family, cake decorating and spending time on their farm with her 3 dogs and 3 mischievous cats.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

 I wanted to be a veterinarian or a forensic scientist when I was little.

If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why?

If I was a pasta shape, I would be ravioli because I am full of surprises.

More about Heidi

I grew up on a farm outside Dawson Creek, BC where we had several horses, dogs, and cats. I started my post-secondary schooling by taking basic science courses at GPRC for two years. During that time, I began working as a Veterinary Assistant. While I enjoyed being an assistant, I wanted to have the skills and license
to do more. In the fall of 2021, I started the Animal Health Technology program at NWP which I graduated from in 2023. I have a special interest in large animals, emergency and shelter medicine, and behaviour.
My husband, Austin, and I currently have two Australian Cattle dogs, Zeus and Zelda. I would love to add a poisonous dart frog, but Austin’s not too keen on having anything “poisonous” in the house:(
In my free time, I enjoy reading, drawing, mountain biking, hiking, downhill skiing, and visiting with family and friends.

Growing up in Tangent, I spent much of my time surrounded by animals and developed a deep appreciation for rural life. To this day, I enjoy spending time with my horses and heading out for rides whenever I can. In my spare time, you’ll often find me in the kitchen trying new recipes or getting creative by making macramé plant hangers. My love for animals, creativity, and the outdoors continues to shape who I am today.
